Sew Random - Quilting for Beginners - Ark City

In this class you will learn how to use a rotary cutter and mat to cut fabric and how to piece strips to make a simple table runner.  You will also learn how to quilt your table runner and bind it.

This will take more than one day.  You are welcome to come one or both days to the class.  If you need help finishing it later, we can make arrangements for the instructor or McDonald's Sewing & Vacuum to work with you.

Skill Level: beginner
Skill Details: It will be helpful if you have sewn before.
Materials Included: The pattern is included.
Requirements: You will need a sewing machine that has a 1/4" foot or a marking for a 1/4" seam. You will need to purchase a jelly roll (a pre-cut roll of 2 1/2" strips of fabric) to get started. You will also need neutral thread. You will also need to purchase fabric for the back and possibly the binding, plus batting to quilt your table runner. We suggest you wait until you finish the top before you purchase the batting, backing, and binding. If you don't have a sewing machine, please come see us before the day of the class. We can help you select a quality machine that fits your needs and your budget.
Instructor: Linda Walker
Instructor Bio: Linda Walker is an experienced quilter who also does long arm quilting and machine embroidery for others. She will help you have a fun time making your first, or even your second or third, quilt!
